The City of Aalborg has applied for and received a promise that it can raise a loan of 200 million kroner for building projects. The local authority has decided to spend 38 million kroner on the renovation of the waterfronts in Aalborg and Nørresundby.
Some of the building projects will be finished in time for The Tall Ships Races in Aalborg in July 2010: 1) Utzon Park, 2) Nyhavnsgade, 3) Slotpladsen (palace square) will have a temporary pavement so that people can walk there. In autumn, it will be paved with granite, 4) Slotsgade.
The City of Aalborg will spend a total of 57.7 million kroner on the renovation of Aalborg waterfront and 10 million kroner on Nørresundby waterfront.
