Bilbao

Think of Bilbao and a vivid image of the Guggenheim Museum inevitably springs to mind. In a remarkably short time, the avant-garde lines of Gehry’s high profile construction have become inextricably linked with this fast developing city. And while it remains a must-to-see it is only the most obvious of the attractions on offer both in Bilbao and the surrounding Basque country.

The wave of interest generated over recent years has found its echo in new facilities such as renowned Spanish architect Fernando Calatrava’s new airport terminal. Designed to meet the needs of the 21st century the soaring structure now welcomes visitors taking advantage of the increasing number of new direct flights available from European cities.
